Agnostids
The reading passage presents three theories on how agnostids lived. They are agbistuds may be free-swimming predator that eat small animals, dwelled on the seafloor, and living on large organisms as prasites. However, according to the listening, the professor believes there are severe weaknesses in the mentioned three theories.
First of all, the reading claims that small animials were also good swimmers and active predator. Therefore, agnostids with small size can also live as a predator and there were substential small organisms as their food resoureces. Howeverm, the professor in the lecture contradicts what the reading states. She argues that animal must have large well-devopled eyes to be a qualified hunter. But asnostids only obtained a tiny poorly-develp eyes, so for them must have another sense organ to chase after their preys, which does not find any evidence.
Second, the author of the reading holds the opinion that agnostids can be seafloor dwellers as other primitive arthropods. But the professor in the lecture refutes this point by present that fact the agnostids occupied multi areas accorss large distance. This indicates that agnostids are able to move fast, which is unusual for seal dwellers, because organisms living on the seafloor are unable to move swiftly.
Finally, from the reading, we learn that it's possible the agnostida were parasites lived on primitive fish or other large arthropods as many modern-day arthropods. In contrast, the listening challenges its couterpart. It contends that arthropods lived as parasites have a small population. Because too many parasites would kill the animals that they lived on. However, evidence shows that the population of agnostids is pretty large, which rules out the theory.
