In 1985, the amount of wheat exported from Canada fluctuated wildly from 1985 to 1990. There was a slight drop from nearly 20 million tons to 17 million tons from 1985 to 1986 before experiencing a gradual growth by 8 million tons in 1988. Then, this figure suddenly grew and hit the peak of 25 million tons in 1988. The wheat exports witnessed a sharp drop to 15 million tons before rising again to 20 million tons at the end of the given period.
With regard to the EU, there was a steady drop in the amount of exported wheat from 16 million tons to approximately 14 million tons between 1985 and 1986, but it then saw a gradual growth to 21 million tons in 1990. Meanwhile, the amount of wheat exported from Australia increased slowly by 2 million tons before falling noticeably to around 10 million tons at the end of the period.
