The table below shows the figures (in thousand) for imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980.
The table gives information about the figure for prison in 5 different countries in the period from 1930 to 1980.
Looking from an overall perspective, the scenario for the volatility of all figures had shifted dramatically throughout the time frame.
Turning to the figure involvement imprisonment in Great Britain, it increased over the whole survey from 30 in 1930 to surpass 80 in 1980. Meanwhile, the figure for Australia followed a downward fluctuation it reached the lowest point in 1950 at 45 after decreasing from 70 in the first year and finished the survey with roughly 68.
On the other hand, New Zealand saw its figure correlated with Australia when it started at 100, then varied to touch less than 90 in 1980. In addition, it witnessed to bottoming at approximately 50 in 1950.
Regarding the imprisonment figure in Canada, it reached 120 in the beginning, followed by a moderate decline to 110 in 1940, before increasing to 115 in 1950. Subsequently, this figure dropped significantly till 1970, when it had a slightly recovered to 90.
It is worth noting that the figure for the US, which was the only object that fluctuated upward, finally reached 138 higher than the original point at 120.
