The graph shows how many single-family homes built in the United States by the area over a period of six years.
The number of new single-family homes construction in South underwent the most significant change over the period. It can also be observed that most houses were built in 2006, however, all four witnessed a notable decline after that. In 2006, the South had the highest number of construction with 900000 houses.
At the same time, the figures were considerably lower for West region at 450000 houses and Midwest at 280000 houses. However, Northeast accounted for the lowest number with only 180000 houses.
All four areas had a continuous decline in construction during the next two years. The number of houses built in South fell greatly, reaching its lowest point at 300000 before climbed up 350000 in 2012. Similarly, in West and Midwest showed overall decline of 100000 numbers but there is sightly increase in West to 250000 and stabilizing in Midwest. On the contrast, Northeast witnessed a steady decline beneath 100000 in 2012.
In general, the number of new single-family houses had a significant change in South, while notable decline in Northeast.
