The given pie charts below illustrate how energy is utilized in an average Australian household and radiation of greenhouse gas as a consequence of this energy use.
Generally speaking, most of the Australian household energy was used in heating while in greenhouse gas emission, maximum portion was invested in water heating. However, in both the cases, cooling, lighting and heating involved least portion and considerable amount in other appliances.
Australian household energy comprised 42% heating and 32 % water heating. On the other hand, in terms of green house gas emission, amount of energy used in heating significantly decreased to 15% and water heating slightly increased to 32%. When added together, both of them made up just above three quarters of the total energy. Addtionally, household energy regarding to other appliances is accounted for 15% which expanded to just above a quarter in greenhouse gas emissions.
On contrary, refrigeration, lighting and cooling included 7%, 4%, 2% of the total energy respectively. In terms of green house secretion, the energy contributed to refrigeration declined to half whereas cooling and lighting utilized the energy by increasing to 3% and 8% successively. On the whole, energy used in these three catagories experienced expansion slightly more than a quarter in greenhouse radiations.
