‘The Internet will never replace traditional course books in schools’
How far do you agree with this prediction
The technology we use today is ever-evolving. Because of this, the number of Internet users, especially for children, is increasing. As a result, reading e-books has evolved along with that, and therefore, I disagree with the notion that textbooks will never be replaced by the Internet.
The Internet is an open system, it connects to the whole world. All the answers to a question can be found by simply typing it in the search bar. Additionally, it provides not only basic information, which is provided in basic textbooks, but it also provides advanced information, which is not provided in those books. As well as showing us the knowledge we need about the topic, it also shows us the resources to support it. Moreover, textbooks are often used for many years, so it is possible that the data is wrong or that it is old and not updated, which may affect the quality of learning. Also, changing a textbook is quite a challenging task. The task is not only challenging in terms of cost but also in terms of repair. It is therefore logical that the Internet will replace traditional textbooks.
The second thing I want to mention is the convenience. With the Internet, you can access it from anywhere, at any time, regardless of your location. Additionally, books can be carried, but it is typically heavy when you carry too many. Instead of having to bring your tablet or laptop, just bring your phone, and you can read the books you want without worrying about whether they are too cumbersome or time-consuming. With modern society's focus on optimization and speed, books are probably not the first choice anymore.
Hence, we see Internet benefits from there. Not only does it update quickly and accurately, but it is easy to take anywhere as well.
