Overseas visitors to three different areas of a European country between 1987 and 2007
The line chart illustrates foreign tourist visits to three main areas of a European country in the period of ten years since 1987.
Generally, the two areas, which are the coast, the lakes, and the mountains, saw the most rapid growth during the period mentioned, while the other category had a slight fluctuation.
In 1987, about 40,000 passengers visited the coast. Although the number of visitors to this area fell slightly in 1992 (roughly 38,000), it reached a peak of 70,000 passengers by 2002, before it saw a fall to nearly 55,000 in 2007.
For the lakes and the mountains, there were about 10,000 visitors to these two areas by 1987. It also saw the same trend with the growth of tourist visits to the coast, which peaked at around 75,000 before dropping to roughly 65,000 visitors by 2007.
In 1987, there were approximately 20,000 in this category. The number of passengers for Series 3 fluctuated during the period mentioned, eventually reaching around 35,000 by 2007.
