The two pie charts illustrate the energy used and greenhouse gas emissions in an average Australian household. The charts contain pieces of information on heating, water heating, refrigeration, lighting, cooling, and other appliances.
Overall, in both charts, the use for heating and water heating were dominating the energy use and resulted in greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, refrigeration and lighting which takes up a small amount of energy were doubled in creating greenhouse gas emissions. Cooling and other appliances show significant production of emissions.
The heating uses 42% of energy which is the highest use, however, its gas emission produces was very low by 27%. While the water heating in energy use comes in second place by 30% and only produces 2% more in gas emissions. The energy use of refrigeration is 7% and lighting is 4% increase twice in the number of greenhouse gas emissions, where the cooling system uses 2% of energy produces 3% of emissions. Other appliances use 15% of energy, resulting in 28% of greenhouse emissions.
