The line graph gives information about how global food and oil prices changed from 2000 to 2011. Overall, the prices of Food index and oil fluctuated and increased dramatically over the given period.
in 2000, the food price index was at about 90 points, the figure then rose to about 140 points in 2007 before surging to over 220 in 2008. following that, the figure for Food price index fluctuated slightly before plummeting to nearly 240 at the end of the period.
Regarding the average oil price, the trend of oil price was almost similar to that of Food price index. The price was about nearly 30 dollars per barrel in 2000, then it climbed to about 70 dollar in 2006 before reaching a peak of 130 dollars in 2008. The figure then plunged to a lowest point, at about 140 dollars in 2009 before rising to just 100 dollars in 2001.
