The graph gives information about the age of the population of Iceland between 1990 and 2020.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar-chart illustrates statistics regarding the age-basis categorization of Iceland’s population over a 30-year period, between 1990 and 2020.
Overall, what stand out most from the chart are the remarkable changes in the proportions of ages constituted the population by 3 decades of observation
While at the beginning of the period almost a half of the population is composed of the first two sectors (0-14 and 15-24), by the period’s end the distribution decreases approximately 50% over a gradual down trend. Unlike other categories, the number of 25 to 54 years-old people who originally formed a third of the proportion, experiences a tremendous growth throughout the recorded time and at the end of the period it comprises almost a half of the Island’s population . Eventually, the last two fragments maintain the same level over the period covered by the graph without any significant peaks or slips
