The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.
The line graph compares global water usage of three sectors, namely agriculture, industry, and domestics. The table shows water consumed by two different countries in the year 2000.
It is clear that agriculture used the most water among three sectors. Also, Brazil consumed much more water than Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the line graph, agriculture is the primary source of global water use among three sectors and its figure increased dramatically from 500 in 1990 to 3000 in 2000. The equivalent figures for both industrial use and domestic use remained stable between 1990 to 1950. Meanwhile, both of them witnessed an increase to 1500 and 500 respectively over the following four years.
We could see that the amount of population, irrigated land and water consumption per person in Brazil overtook those figures of Congo in 2000. The amount of Brazilian population was over 30 times as large as that of Congo. Similarly, their water consumption per person was 359 m^3 and 8 m^3, respectively. A more huge gap existed in the amount of irrigated land and there was 26500 km^2 land which is irrigated in Brazil, while only 100 km^2 in Congo.
