The bar chart compares how much time the UK's inhabitants spend on three different types of phone calls from 1995 to 2002.
Overall, it is evident that national and international calls and calls on mobile recorded an upward trend, while local calls were the opposite. Furthermore, local calls were the most popular over the period.
Minutes spent on local calls fluctuated over the whole period, with just over 70 billion minutes in 1995 before peaking at approximately 90 billion in 1999 and then steadily declining to just over 70 billion minutes in 2002.
During the 7 years period, national and international calls constantly increased year on year, from approximately 35 billion minutes in 1995 to the highest position - 60 billion minutes in 2002. Mobile calls showed a similar development, which roughly 5 billion minutes in 1995 and stood at 40 billion minutes in 2002, 8 times more than the first year.
