The table illustrates the amount of plant and animal based products consumed by a person in a certain European country between 1992 and 2012.
Overall, most consumed food was vegetables while cheese was the less food consumption. Also, meat consumption decreased but all other food increased.
Plant-based products had an increasing trend over 20 years. The highest portion of people’s food intake was the number of vegetables consumed at 2140 grams in 1992, and rose slightly and reached 2220 grams in the last ten years. At the same period time, the figure for wheat increased to 997 grams while that for beans went up moderately to 590 grams in 2012.
The rest of the food intake including meat and dairy products both increased in the first period, more meat was consumed than fish, by 100 grams and 12 grams respectively. There was a small rise of more than 60 grams in the amount of meat in 2002, however, the figure dropped back to 1132 grams in 2012. Cheese made up the smallest part of people’s diet with only 113 grams in 1992 and 125 grams in both 2002 and 2012.
