The given diagram gives information about how much Australians were charged for a cup of coffee in six different cities over a period of 4 years.
Overall, while other cities witnessed a significant increase in the cost of coffee between 2010 and 2014, Brisbane’s residents still paid the same amount of money for coffee after 4 years. Additionally, the greatest change was seen in the coffee cost of Melbourne whereas Sydney remained the most expensive city to buy a cup of coffee from.
Looking at the table in more detail, it is clear that there was a slightly upward trend in the cost of coffee for Canberra, Adelaide and Perth with the degrees of change in coffee price standing at around 6.5 %. Especially, both in 2010 and 2014, city dwellers in Canberra paid the lowest amount of money for their coffee-drinking habit when compares with those in other urban areas.
Regarding the remaining cities, the highest costs of coffee were seen in Melbourne and Sydney from 2010 to 2014 with the figures in 2014 being $2.9 for Melbourne and $3.17 for Sydney. However, surprisingly, the price of a cup of coffee in Brisbane, which was $2.25, remained unchanged over the period.
