Describe the information in the chart below.

The bar chart illustrates the amount of money spent on five different consumer goods, namely cars, computers, books, perfume and cameras in France and the UK in 2010.

Overall, from the graph it is clear that the UK consumed more goods than France in the period given. Both the British and the French expended most of their money on cars, whereas the least amount of money was spent on perfume in the UK compared to cameras in France.

Turning to the details, people in the UK used cars at just over 450,000 pounds slightly more than in France, which stood at 400,000 pounds. Following that, the spending of the British on books was also higher than that of the French, around 400,000 and 300,000 pounds respectively. However, a significant difference in the expenditure of two countries could be observed in the figures for cameras: France spent only 150,000 pounds sterling, as opposed to the UK, which spent 350,000 pounds.

On the other hand, people in France were more interested in computers and perfume than people in the UK. Exactly 350,000 pounds was spent by the British on computers, which was slightly less than the French who spent over 350,000. Neither of two countries paid much for the perfume which was counted for 200,000 pounds of the expenditure in France but under 150,000 pounds in the UK.
