The graph provides information about the rates of household recycling in the UK, France and Germany over the period of 10 years from 2005 to 2015.
It can be seen that the figures for the UK and Germany experienced a steady increase over the period, finishing at the 1st and 2nd place overall. By contrast, that for Frace went down significantly until 2013 then finished at the 3rd place, despite recovering slightly two years later.
Looking at the graph for more detail, the household recycling rates in the UK, which started with 35% in 2005, rose minimally and flattened out 40% until 2009 before increasing sharply to a peak of just over 60% at the end of the period. Similarly, there was also a remarkable growth in the figure for Germany, from only around 20% at the beginning of the period to about 45% in 2011 then increased more slowly to finishing with over 55% in 2015.
By contrast, the rate of household recycling in France decline dramatically from a peak of 50% to only three fifth of that in 2013. Depite recovering to 40% at the end of the period, it finished at only 3rd place overall.
