Overall, the general trend in population living in cities is to increase over the time period presented. Further, in 2040, the data on people who live in malaysia's urban area will top the chart whereas this one in thailand will rank last.
In 1970, the figure for population in philippines's city was just over 30%, nearly doubled than that in indonesia. Then over the following 20 years, there is a boom in the statistic of all 4 countries. From 1990 to 2010, regarding to malaysia and indonesia's urban population, both of them witnessed a significant climb. By contrast, the proportion of philippines underwent a slight decrease and this figure for thailand was remained relatively stable at 30%.
Looking at the graph, according to current predictions, there will be a similar trend in 4 cities to raise remarkably. Particularly, an upsurge was recoreded in the percentage of urban population in malaysia, averaging nearly 90% and it is expected to be the highest position. Besides, indonesia's population will increase by 20% as well as the information in thailand that is predicted to account for nearly 50%. Moreover, the data on philippines will be constituted more than 60% which will be 10% smaller than that in indonesia.
