The maps below show an industrial area in the town of Norbiton, and planned future development of the site.
The two maps illustrate the major changes which will be made to an industrial site in Norbiton town.
In general, it is likely to see a shift towards becoming a residential area with houses and buildings, alongside other public facilities.
At present, farmland is located in the north, separated from the industrial site by a river to the south. It is prominent to see a roundabout in the middle, accessed via the main road to the south, running by the river. There are altogether 7 factories around the roundabout and the side road connected to the east of it.
In the future, a small roundabout will be added to the main road. If we look at the roundabout, two new roads are expected to be built, one on the northwest and the other going to the north across the river. All factories will be replaced by 7 residential campuses, 3 on either east or west of the roundabout and the remaining one to the north, in the farmland. There will also be other amenities such as shops, a medical center, a playground, and a school around the housing sites.
