The provided maps illustrate an industrial area that is a part of a town called Norbiton in the present day compared with its projected redevelopment in the future.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the goal is to make this area become less industrial and transform it into a residential neighborhood with extra housing and additional amenities.
Currently, there is a central roundabout surrounded by factories and connects two roads, one is the main road in the south of the map and the other leading to the east with houses on each sides. In the north of the town, there is a river running from west to east out of Norbiton with a farmland situated to its north.
According to the proposed plan, the southern end of this area will feature a school while the playground is set to be constructed in the north and it will also have housing on either side. Morever, there will be two new roads splitting off from the roundabout. One is going to be built in the north of the roundabout that will pass over the river with housing located on the western and another road will head towards the northwest from the roundabout with housing alone one side and at the end of this road.
Outside the center of the town, the farmland will be replaced by additional housing with a parallel road set to be constructed and linked to the northbound road. Futhermore, the redevelopment plan also entail the addtion of a smaller roundabout where the south road currently meet the main road in a T-intersection.
