The chart shows the statistics about the price of bananas in four countries from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, Japan showed the highest price of bananas and the lowest belonged to the USA. Moreover, there was an upward trend on the price of bananas in Japan, USA whereas the opposite was true in France, Germany.
Looking at more details, after starting with the highest price among four countries in 1994, 2$ per kilogram, Japan sharply rose and reached a peak at under 3$ in 1995. After that, there were some fluctuations in the price over 8 years and it hit the trough at above 1.5$ which ranked second in 2001. With roughly 1.6$, France ranked second in 1994 and remained stable 3 years before witnessing some fluctuations in the rest period and finishing at under 1.6$.
Regarding Germany, the figure fluctuated from 1994 to 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, the price of bananas remained unchanged at about 1.25$, the third highest number. The USA had the lowest price of bananas with only under 1$ per kilogram and showed a significant increase by 0.5$. Between 1995 and 2004, the figure was roughly around from 1 to 1.2$.
