In this world of integration, getting an overseas education is often a bone of contention. While some believe there are other viable methods to be employed for a high-paid job, I still side with those who deem studying abroad an ultimate key to getting a remunerative employment opportunity.
Advocates of the former perspective disregard overseas education, postulating that there are other alternatives to obtain a well-paid job, specifically studying domestically by online means. Their reason is that due to the advancement of the Internet, learning in domestic countries is as effective and fruitful as in foreign countries, which often involves language barriers and cultural differences. As we all know, the Internet provides numerous learning opportunities like online courses to students, making a vast amount of knowledge available at a low cost compared to the exceeding sum of money invested in foreign learning packs. Furthermore, some well-paid jobs require applicants with no profound degrees, nor foreign experience. Instead, soft skills and dedication are more valued, underscoring the belief that individuals do not necessarily have to possess a foreign education background to achieve a lucrative occupation.
However, the aforementioned perspective overlooks the unique merits of studying overseas, especially when international recognition and valuable experience are considered. As for external appreciation, by taking abroad courses, overseas students can acquire academic recognition, namely college diplomas, degrees and various certificates, thereby bolstering their professional profile. These credentials are particularly advantageous in contemporary society that prioritizes achievements over others. Regarding realistic experience, while students who study domestically are often characterized as short-sighted, learning in developed countries such as America and Australia can widen students’ horizons by offering them a high-quality education with advanced teaching techniques and facilities, thus providing them with a more welcoming access to expertise than in their own countries. Eventually, these distinctive benefits make studying abroad a preferable option to the online one, which is an oversimplified view.
In closing, the assertion that learning in domestic countries plays even a better role than learning overseas when taking a high-paid occupation is simplistic. Therefore, I cannot concur with this belief and posit that going abroad is the most suitable choice to obtain a desirable job, catalyzing a prospective career.
