The chart illustrates the attitudes toward future tendencies of young Europeans in the next two decades in five aspects.
Generally, with the exception of communication, most areas show the superiority of negative expectations among youngsters, especially in terms of air quality. Besides, a similarity is recorded in the proportions of health and water quality, whereas there is a relative balance between the numbers of young Europeans who believe in the improvement of food quality and those who believe in its deterioration.
In the next 20 years, over 40% of European youngsters think that general well-being will become better, which is around two-thirds of their opponent counterparts. Similarly, two in five young Europeans hold a belief in an optimistic change in water quality. However, a relative equilibrium was seen in the expectation for food quality in the two following decades.
Considering the remaining categories, regarding air quality, a majority of youngsters in Europe have a negative view toward its future state with a figure of over 75%. However, the situation changes completely when it comes to human interaction because there is a dominance of positive expectations, specifically at over 60%, of European young people.
