The given pie charts illustrate the percentage of energy consumed in Australian family averagely and the proportion of greenhouse gas emitted by Australian household from the energy.
It is noticeable that heating was the biggest consumer of Australian household energy, and that water heating produced most amount of greenhouse gas.
As shown in the first pie chart, heating was the highest percentage of energy consumption, constituting 42%, and 30% energy was utilized in water heating which was the second largest. By contrast, the least amount of energy resource was consumed by cooling, with only 2%. As for the remainder, refrigeration and lighting used collectively almost the same amount of energy as other appliances, at 11% and 15%, respectively.
As can be seen from the second pie chart, water heating was the biggest producer of greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for 32%, which was slightly more than the percentage of gas generated by other appliances (at 28%), while cooling was still the smallest producer whose outcome only comprised 3%. Similar amount of greenhouse gas was emitted by heating and refrigeration, at 15% and 14% respectively, and lighting utilized approximately half of their amout.
