You are a student at an English language school in Brighton and are living in private accommodation with other flat mates. You have not had hot water or heating for some time. The landlord’s workmen have tried to fix the problem but without success.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter,
state your reason for writing
describe the problems and explain how you feel
propose a solution and risk the landlord to take action
Dear Sir,
I am your one of the tenant holder at “Star Centre Square” pursuing English Language Studies - Brigton, and I am writing to you so that you can personally get into this matter and can fix the problem effectively. Me and my peers are suffering a water problem at our accommodation since few weeks.
Moreover, I had tried to contact the Service Provider of the flat three to four times but they did not felt it to be their obligation. They even send one plumber to fix the problem but he again left the premises by saying that it is not a tubing issue but its a burner issue. Therefore, I immediately thought to write you so that you can arrange something for us on urgent basis.
Furthermore, whenever we go for shower, hot water starts pouring into tub but within a minute it turns to extra cold water and never flows out hot again from the tap. To add more, its a mid of winter season so it is becoming perilous day by day.
However, you can approach someone from Gas Agency to look after this issue or can assign another Service Provider at our place. It is your onus to resolve this circumstance. I would like to request you to even provide us 20% discount for the rent of this month as we had almost finished the month with this problem.
Waiting for your positive response,
Thanks
