The graph shows the number of boys and girls playing sport in an England town in 2012.
The bar chart depicts how many children, divided by gender, played six kinds of sport (tennis, badminton, cycling, swimming, football, and hockey) in a town in England in 2002.
In general, while football was the most popular sport for boys, the majority of girls preferred swimming. Besides, there were four sports in which boys participated more than girls.
It is clear, first, that while 60 boys played football, the number of girls who took this sport as leisure was considerably lower (around 20). Regarding tennis, the figure for boys who played that sport was 50 as opposed to just under 40 for girls. Similarly, more boys (approximately 35) cycled than girls (20). Strikingly, both males and females lest interested in playing hockey although the difference was minimal with about five more boys who played that sport than girls.
On the other hand, more girls took part in two remaining sports which both showed the differences of 10 between the genders. For example, as many as 40 girls preferred badminton in comparison to 50 girls for swimming.
To sum up, the number of boys playing sport exceeded that of girls in the given year.
