The article states that using lucid glasses in architecture treaten the birds life and there are three solutions that can solve this problem. However, the professor explains none of the author's reasons are convincing and refutes them one by one.
First, One-Way Glass can help birds to avoid going through windows because birds do not see other side of the window and understand that it is obstcle infront of them and avoid to go straight forward through it. As the reading claims, is refuted by the professor . He asserts that this glasses are same as mirror and birds do not identify the mirror picture of trees or other things and the might think its different trees and go toward it.
Second, Colorful Designs may cause a situation in which although people from inside of building do not see the design, birds from outside can see it and prevent to go toward window. Nevertheless, the professor argues that it is not possible to make this design because if this designs are invisible for humans inside bulding it must be too small, so birds do not see this designs too and if they want to make it clear for birds they must increase the designs size but it make inside of building dark.
Finally, magnetic fields can aware birds from obstcle that are face to them. On the contrary, professor states that birds only use their magnetic sense in long travels, instead for short travels they use their eyes and brightness of lights.
