The given graph illustrate the number of those serious injuries which are caused to death of workforce in New Zealand over an eighteen years period since 1992 till 2010. The overall trend is likely to be downward trend bar some short period which the number has increased.
As it can be seen, in 1992, the number of work accident that result in death of worker was 6217 and has risen in two following years which has reached a peak at 6632 in 1994. Then, throughout the period between 1995 and 2003, it experienced a reducing trend, except in 1997, which showed a slight increase in comparison with previous year. In 2004, the number of dead worker has increased by about 200 and reached to 5764.
During the next two years, the recorded death number showed a fluctuation but since 2007, it dropped significantly to 4551 in 2009. Although, the number of injured workers is a bit more than last year, but totally it has roughly declined by 2000 number in comparison with the beginning of the survey.
