You borrowed some books from your school or college library. Unfortunately, you have to go away to visit a sick relative and cannot return the books in time.
Write a letter to the library. Explain what has happened and tell them what you want to do about it.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you about a few books that still in my possession and needed to be returned to the library until wednesday, but there has been a complication that will make the devolution quite difficult.
Let me explain in more details my situation. I am studying law in the college and the professor Seagate asked the class to write a paper regarding the severity of penalties in our state. Therefore, I went to the library and borrowed some criminal law and history books to finish my assignment.
However, during the weekend, I received a call from my aunt, which lives in the countryside, and asked me if I could spent some time with her in other to seek a fully recovery from a flu. She doesn't have either a son a daughter to look after her and her husband is traveling abroad. I shall be with her until his return on friday.
So, regarding the books deadline, since this is not an usual case, I was hoping if I could request to my friend Arthur deliver them for me even though I know that the return of any library material must be by the same person who requested it.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Rafael
