I hope you are well. Sorry, have n’t been in touch. With the deadlines around the corner, I've been occupied with university assignments. I was very pleased you receive your letter last week.
I am happy to share with you that the Indian government has finally taken a revolutionary step towards indiscrimination. They have legalized L.G.B.T (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) rights, declaring section 377 as unconstitutional.
A democracy like ours has been facing legal and social difficulties for one’s sexual orientation and preferences. It was necessary to break the shackles of conservative mindsets and step into an era of accepting and respecting individual choices.
I have finally come out of the closet and expressed to my friends and family about my inclination towards other women. Most of them have been very supportive. Homosexuality has existed in ancient India, Kama Sutra is an explicit example of the same.
I recall having a long chat with you about same-sex marriages. Well, I thought that it will be a good idea to share this liberating piece of news with you. Give my regards to your parents. Awaiting your response!
