The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.

The table chart compares the percentage of people who subsidised money in three categories in five European countries over the year 2002.
Overall, it is evident that for things such as food, drink or tobacco citizens of all countries spent the most of their money, whereas for recreational activities and education the lowest amount.
In terms of details, the highest amount of money on food/drinks/tobacco spent Turkish people, at almost a third. Also, in Ireland the figures made up about 29%, however, other countries including Spain, Italy and Sweden was spent 19, 16 and just over 15 per cent, respectively. Italians were the most costly on clothing and footwer, accounting for 9%, but in Ireland, Spain and Turkey citizens subsidising slightly over 6 per cent on the clothes and footwear, while Swedwn's figures made only around 5%.
According to the countries' spendings on recreational activities and education, Ireland and Spain had the lowest proportion at about 2 percent. Italy and Sweden had the very same percentage at 3,20%, and Turkey were the highest paid country consisting of almost 4,5 percent in 2002.
