You arranged to visit a friend in England but an important event at home now means that you must change the dates of the visit.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
• explain the important event
• apologise for the situation
• suggest a new arrangement
Dear Madam,
I am writing this letter to you to sadly inform you about postponement of my visit to your home.
As you remember Tarannum, I had planned to meet you in the first week of the next month, April, and I was pretty excited for the same just like you. I know you have started making arrangements about my stay at you house already and you also said that you were cancelling all your tasks which you had scheduled for this month. However, there has been a sudden chain of happenings here in my family which has left me with no choice but to reframe my journey in the month of August.
I hope you remember my cousin Neena, whom you met last year when you came to my house in Shimla. Her parents have arranged her marriage on 15th of April and she is going to tie the knot with the person she loves since her high school. Being the only girl in the entire family, its very crucial for all of us to be a part of her marital ceremonies and bestow our blessings. As you know how close she is to my heart, I cannot describe how hard it is for me to part from the sadness of letting her go, although I am elated about her getting married.
Anyways, I am sure you understand how important it is for me to stay. But don’t you worry at all. Just another three months then I will be there with you for an entire 30 days duration. I have heard that the weather there in England is wonderful in August and the sight-seeing is awe-strucking. Therefore, it’s a win-win situation for both of us as you can now carry-out the tasks that you had planned for April and I can enjoy travelling with you in August, which could have been cumbersome in the snowy month of April.
Hope to see you soon and wishing you all the happiness and prosperity.
Yours sincerely, March 14th, 2019
