The pie charts given compare the purposes of UK immigration and emigration in 2007. Overall, it is obvious that nothing could compare with finding stable employment when people moved to and from the UK.
In detail, according to the charts, overseas employment was the top priority of both UK immigrants and emigrants which constituted the proportions of 30 and 29% respectively. At the same time, only 6% of the few went to the UK without any reason or refused to state one which was only a third of the proportion from emigrants. In contrast, formal study, which took up a small percentage of 4%, was the least concern should UK citizens moved abroad, this figure was the second choice of immigrants with 26 %.
Following the same trajectory, the purpose of accompanying or joining of immigrants of 15% was 2% higher than those of emigrants. Last but not least, both looking for a job and other reasons were 22% and 14% for immigration compares to 12% and 11% for immigration, respectively.
