The bar chart illustrates the proportion of two types of student who achieved second class degrees or better in the UK at an institution in 2009.
Overall, the number of college students fluctuated throughout the eight subjects. It is clear that UK students were higher in almost subjects while overseas students gained degrees at a low figure, except Electrical engineering and Information Technology.
The percentage of both types of student who graduated with second class degrees or better were similar in Nursing and Accountancy with nearly third quarters and 60% respectively. UK students who studied Art History and Sociology attained 80%. However, abroad students just reached 65% of Art history and about one over two per cent of Sociology. A higher percentage of gaining degrees in Society-related subjects by most of the British students. Approximately,75% of local students had degrees in English literature along with over a half percentage of students achieved in International law. Nevertheless, abroad students qualified from these two subjects just somewhere between above 40% and under 60% respectively.
In contrast, overseas students were the highest proportion of the chart with nearly 90% in Information Technology compare with UK students, under 60%. The figure for students gained degrees or higher with 80% of international students than almost 60% of British students.
