In the reading, the writer describes several ways that may reverse the salinity-increasing trend in Salion sea. However, in the lecture, the speakers say that all the three methods are actually unrealistic.
Firstly, the author claims that direct removal of salt from the lake's water by special desalination facilities is a method. But the professor argues that the left materials could not be sold. Although the left materials contain salt, it also contains toxic chemical that will be dangerous if people eat it. this means that the author's idea is unrealistic.
Secondly, the reading assumes that to dilute the salt level in the lake with water from the sea is another possible solution. While the lecturer says that the local administration doesn't have enough money to build the pipelines or canals. Since the lake is 100km away from the sea, these facilities will be very expensive, which rejects the thinking in the passage.
Thirdly, the writer asserts that constructing walls to divide the lake into some sections is also a possible solution. Yet the speaker argues that the area the lake is located in has a lot of geological activities, especially earthquakes. So even if the walls are built, they won't last for a long time and will be destroyed by a major earthquake. Then, the water in different sections will mix together. this fact rejects the point in the reading.
