The charts below give information about the amount and types of water in the world and also tell the use of water in three countries.
The pie charts compare the total percentage and kinds of water in the earth while the bar graph shows the reasons for water consumption in the three nations.
Overall, among the total water in the world, fresh water only makes up a very small proportion of this and is mainly found as glaciers and permanent snows. It is also noticeable that the primary reason for water consumption in Saudi Arabia and Egypt is on agriculture, while in Canada it is for industrial purposes.
The total amount of fresh water on earth is only 2.5% whereas the saline water comprised the vast majority. With regard to the sources of fresh water, less than three-quarters of it is stored as frozen water and a significant proportion of around 30% could be seen as fresh underground water. The figures for the underground ice and renewable water are both just under 1%.
Saudi Arabia consumed the biggest percentage of its water supply on agriculture at exactly half, followed by Egypt and Canada at 40% and 30% respectively. Canada's use of water for industrial reasons had by far the most figure at approximately 35%. The similarity in these nations is that they spent the least amount of water for domestic purposes.
