Overall, it can be seen that there was a significant increase in the number of students in further education in Britain. In addition, full-time education was popular in Britain's education.
At the beginning of the period, the fulltime studying of men reached the peak at 1000 student in 1970/71 and then fell to nearly 800 students in 1980/81. This figure was higher than women, with 700 women students take part in the fulltime studying in 1970/71 and just under 800 students in 1980/81. The part-time studying of men was at least twice as high as those for women in 1970/71, with about 100 and 50 students respectively. By 1980/81, both women and men were a dramatic increase in part-time studying, around 190 and 200 students.
At the end of the period, the number for full-time education women experienced the fastest growth, hit the highest points of 1.100 students in 1990/91, while figures for men remained stable at the same time. The part-time education was similar in both gender in 1990/91, with over 200 students.
