A brief analysis of the figure reveals that while gold sales saw violent fluctuations during the given period, it remained relatively unchanged over the last three months of 2002.
Increasing marginally from 200 million dirhams in January to almost 220 million dirhams in the second month of 2002, gold sales then continued its upward tendency. It peaked in around 350 million in March. However, it plunged sharply to approximately 120 million dirhams in July.
Afterward, it experienced a period of erratic behavior prior to September, rising to just above 200 million dirhams in August and for the next month reaching the same level as in July. This was followed by a gentle climb to somewhere in the vicinity of 190 million dirhams in October before finally, gold sales leveled out in that position.
