The charts give information about honey-bee colonies and honey production in the US
The first bar chart depicts the amount of honey-bee colonies in the USA over the course from 1970 to 2010 whilst the second graph illustrates the proportion of products which were made from honey in this period.
Overall, as can be inferred from the data, there was a downward trend in the amount of honey-bee society with a sole exception of this figure in the year 1980, and it was associated with the recession of honey production throughout the period.
In particular, the graph witnessed a slight increase from 1970 to 1980, at 4 and around 4.3 million respectively. However, this proportion dropped significantly to 3.5 million in 1990 and there was a similar tendency in the next 20 years and the lowest number was observed in 2010 (1.8 million).
Looking at the bar chart, the decline of bee colonies was the prime reason that poses a threat to honey products. Between 1970 and 1980, the figure for these items fell down to 110000 tone. In contrast, it rose steadily to nearly 120000 tone but this number bottom out in the last year of the period.
