Write a letter to the local council about the closure of a playground in your area because children don’t use it much. In your letter say
– Why don’t many children use it?
– How is the playground important for children?
– Give some suggestions how to increase the playground’s usage.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
This is Sri from Mandaveli, Chennai and I am writing this letter in regards to the closure of the playground in the 2nd cross street which is a residential area. From one of the newspapers, I came to know that local council in every areas are involved in shutting down the un-used playgrounds in the city. Kindly note that one of the old playground in my area is not much used by the kids, however, I would like to suggest that it requires new changes to re-open the ground that attracts childern instead of closing down.
There are multiple reasons for the children to not using the playground effectively. In my area, one of the important reason is that there is no such equipment in the ground for the kids to use, however, the swings are broken and slides are damaged. Also note that during rainy season, there is water logging issue the place which spoils the ground. As playground play a vital role to increase the outdoor activities which leads to healthier lifestyle of the kids and also it helps to promote the social harmony among the childern.
I would like to suggest the Local Council to review the order of the closure and enchance the oppourity to give new play ground for the kids in the area. This can be done by changing the equipments in the ground like replacing the swing, slides and so on. Also it would be great if there is a space for cycling and net / wall games. It is important for the society to encourage childern to involve themselves in the outdoor activities, as it builts the healthier generation.
Hope my letter would convience you to re-think on the closure of the playgrounds and awaiting for the positive reponse or action on this letter.
Thanking you.
Regards,
Nalli Sri
