Overall, the number of the aging population in all countries is projected to increase from1988 to 2030. The highest population of elderly people was in Germany, which will remain the highest in 2030, while the lowest aging population can be seen in the United Kingdom over the period given.
Between 1988 and 2000, the proportion of elderly people in Germany and Canada rose by roughly 5% to 25.32% and 20.67% respectively. With regard to the UK, the figure of people aged 65 and above had relatively little change and remained as just under 15% in both years.
By 2030, Germany and Canada's aging population will grow by approximately 5.5% to 30.42% and 26.45% respectively. The number of people aged 65 and more in the UK will have a significant growth to just over a fifth.
