Essay topics:

using regular glass has bird's injury. what is your opinion?

The reading and listening passages have conflicting opinion about solution of preventing bird's injuries because of implement of glass material in buildings. The writer providing three reasons, on the other hand, the lecture categorically refutes all them citing the none of the solution will effectively stop this problem.

First, the reading states that by replacing one-way glass with instead of regular glass birds can detect solid barrier and won't try to fly. On the contrary, the lecturer believes in one-way glass reflect the images and they are just like mirror and birds also don't understand the mirror like as regular glass. If put a picture of sky or river they assume they're real and fly in to them.

Moreover, the second solution in the reading is using colorful lines or other designs on clear glass to prevent birds to fly through them. The author points out these lines perceive as open halls, and birds try to fly to them. To avoid this openings would be very small, but then, the room would be too dark.

Finally, the third one that passage implies, is if the buildings appointed to magnetic it could help birds to get away from buildings. Birds use this methods when travel long distance to figure out which way should fly. For short distance they apply eyes and brightness of light. So using magnetic field won’t have much effect on birds.
