The maps show the changes of Shalton village from 1910 and 2010.
The two maps illustrate Shalton village experienced some alterations between 1910 and 2010.
It is clear that the village considerably changed over the period shown with the development of new residential areas.
As can be seen from the maps, in 2010 all trees surrounding large house demolished to give way to new houses were chopped down. Meanwhile, a small road was opened to connect this accommodation area to London Road. In addition, there were four houses built on the same side of post office in London Road.
In terms of other changes, the bakery to the northeast of the High Street was converted into a house while the construction of four new houses was complemented in the opposite side. On the School Road, a house in the north of it was removed to make room for a bank, and behind the parking a supermarket also was set up to serve local residents at the same time.
