The graph below shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries
The line graph illustrates about the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040. Overall, there are three countries namely japan, Sweden, United States and the rates are recorded by percentage.
Firstly, the percentage of proportion aged 65 and over in United States went steadily from about 9% to 10% in 1940 to 1960, and went up to 15% in 1980. From that point until 2020, the percentage went slowly to 14% and at 2040 the percentage reached 23%. Next for the proportion of population in Sweden, the percentage started at 7% in 1940, and grew around 9% in 1960. it can be seen that there was an unpredictable trend for the proportion of population in Sweden, starting from 9% in 1960 to 18% in 2020. Then, it went dow and will rise quickly in 2040 at 25%. For the proportion of population in japan, the percentage decreased at 5% to 3% in 1940 to 1960, and remained stagnant until 1980. The percentage climbed to 10% from 1980 to 2020 and will rise rapidly to 25% from 2020 to 2040.
In conclusion, japan will show the most proportion of population in future.
