It is clear that, in all 3 years, the percentage of higher education was always highest. Furthermore, the percentage of higher education also experienced the most significant change over the period.
In 1980, local authorities in Someland spent the most money on higher education, with 35 percent of sum of money they spent. Then the number rose to 45 percent in 1990 before declined to 40 percent in 2000. In contrast, the proportion of money spent on K-12 education continuously fell from 1980 to 2000, 25%, 20% and 18% respectively.
This trend was true for the number of the other fields. In 1980, the proportion on this category was 6%, then it decreased gradually to 4% and 1% in 1990 and 2000 respectively. Besides, the percentage of environmental services rose slightly from 4% in 1980 to 5% in 1990 and 9% in 2000.
