The reading and the listening debate the problem which causes the sea otter decline. The reading materials believe that the main problem is pollution with providing three reasons, which are contradicted by the following lecture.
Firstly, the reading claims that the pollution such as oil rigs and other chemical resources cause the main reason to cause sea otter reduces. However, the lecturer contradicts the reading by pointing out that the infection because of chemical pollution is not good reason to prove it because if that was the case, many otters should find out in beaches. She believes that predators are the reason to decrees the number of otter.
Secondly, other sea mammal as well as the otter’s declination in this region, in the author's opinion, is caused by environmental pollution other than the predator. In contrast, the professor indicates that it is, in fact, the human being that prey these sea mammals.
Thirdly, the reading materials point out that in some are sea otter are less which in some other places are more, the author thinks that because of the level of pollution base on experience on sample water, they recognize that areas with high pollution otter are less and opposite. In contrast the lecturer claims that some area which is easy to access the otter is less and some shallow are that is difficult to reach by predictors the number of otter is more.
