Work is being done on the street where you live. The noise is disturbing you.
Write a letter of complaint to your local council. In your letter.
• Introduce yourself
• Explain what the problem is
• Suggest solutions to the problem
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to bring your attention to the noise pollution caused by the ongoing road maintenance work outside my house on North Street.
My name is William Smith and I am a resident of Gold Coast, Australia. I have been living here for over 15 years, and I have never had complain to the council for any reason before.
For some-time, our society was happy to see that the authorities have started to repair the roads. But, after a few days, it became a nightmare for us as we are unable to sleep at night. The noise from the heavy machines is causing inconvenience to me as well as to other residents in the neighbourhood. Besides this, students who are preparing for the upcoming exams are also unable to focus.
I have tried to contact the council offices on several occasions to report the problem, but still, nothing has been done. I would like to suggest that you employ additional workers to speed up the repair process and strictly confine the work to daytime as most of the residents and students are in their offices and schools.
I look forward to the problem being resolved.
Yours Faithfully,
Willaim Smith
