The bar graph illustrates the billion-minute changes in phone calls in the 1995-2002 period in the UK.
The first impression is that among three categories, local fixed-line was the most common type which was followed by national/international fixed-line and mobiles respectively. While the total figures of local fixed-line dropped consistently after a steady improvement, the other types of call witnessed an overall improvement throughout the years.
In particular, a peak can be observed in the local fixed-line category which was at 90 billion minutes in 1999. Despite that, the national/international fixed line’s highest point occurred at the end of the analyzed phase, at subtly over 60 billion minutes. It can be seen from the graph that British people spent an increasing amount of time making telephone calls on mobile devices. The differences were quite substantial, starting from only 3 billion minutes in 1995 to 45 billion minutes in 2002. Another outstanding feature is that the gap between these three phone calls had been closer, which saw its smallest in 2002 when the total numbers of minutes spent were 72, 61, and 45 billion minutes in the same order.
