The table shows forested land in millions of hectares in different parts of the world.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The mentioned table illustrates different numbers of forest area in million hectares between 1990 and 2005 in 6 specific places in the world.
The first impression is that while some areas witnessed their forested land decreased over the years, others had their figures improved. Another outstanding feature is that Europe had the largest forest land which is in contrast with Oceania ranking at the bottom.
In particular, Africa and South America suffered the forest loss which was starting at 749 million hectares and 946 million hectares in 1990 to 691 million hectares and 882 million hectares in 2005 respectively. Despite this, there was a subtle land expansion in Asia and Europe during our discussed period. On the other hand, Europe in the former year was the spot that owned the widest amount of forested land whereas this number in Oceania was only 199 million ha. The same phenomenon was observed in the latter year as well. The total million hectares of this categorized land possessed by Europeans maintained the top position among the group which was 1001 while this was 197 in the Oceania area.
