Essay topics:

You work for a company. You have seen some information online about a training course that would be useful for your work.

Write a letter to your manager. In your letter

give details of the course
say how the course would be useful
explain how the company could help you do this course.

Dear Mr Johnson,

I am writing to inform you about an upcoming course in Java programming language. I came across the course in the newspaper “Kazakhstan” issued in April. It takes place in Astana city on May 5th and lasts for 5 days.

I would like to attend it, because the project I am working on needs the object oriented approach in programming. In the course I will learn how to make my plan my workplace, make use of creating classes in Java and carry out quality tests. These new skills will help me deal with non-trivial issues while performing customer requirements. On top of that, I will get to know how to use the version of Java framework based on both classes and interfaces.

However, the training is fairly expensive. It costs approximately 500 dollars, but I will have to pay 300 dollars first, which I cannot afford now. Thus, I would like the company to compensate my expenses, since I am planning to do it for the sake of the company. On top of that I need to pay for accommodation in another city for a week. I am going to rent a room in a hotel, which will cost me another 300 dollars. In total it amounts to 800 dollars and 5 days off work.

I would appreciate it if you reply me as soon as possible, as the course starts in three days. I am looking forward to your answer.

Yours sincerely,
Tolegen
