Over the next 25 years, while there was a dramatic decrease by approximately 7% in Australians who came from the UK, the figures for Other and Asia increased sharply to 12% and 8% in turn. The total population of Australia witnessed a gradual decrease from about 22% in 1976 to its all-time low of 21% in 2001.
Over the last 10 years, the percentage of people who came from the UK continued to fall to 5%, the lowest proportion among Asia and Other.
